Shashlik Skewers with Wooden Handles, 61 cm

Good shashlik starts with the skewer. These are long, flat and solid: 61 cm end to end, with a 41 cm stainless steel blade that is 11 mm wide and 3 mm thick. The flat blade holds meat and vegetables firmly, so they turn when you turn the skewer instead of spinning round it, and every side gets the same heat.

The solid wood handles keep your hands back from the coals. Thread on marinated pork, chicken, lamb or vegetables and cook them the East-European way: over real charcoal, on a mangal or an open grill.

Care

Wash in warm, soapy water and dry straight away. Keep the wooden handles out of the dishwasher and don't leave them to soak.
